Well, here's the latest development.. :(
I have been put on bedrest for at least 1 week. I'm REALLY hopeing that I will be able to go back after that - cuz it's only day 1 and I'm already stir crazy. :)
Here's the background. Saturday and Sunday I noticed that my feet seem to be swollen way more than usual. Dan said he could even see it in my face. So most of the weekend, I tried to take it easy, and elevate the feet - and drink lots of water. That didn't seem to help. On Monday I showed my feet/ankles to the school nurse - and she made me have my blood pressure taken. It was quite elevated she said. She made me call the Dr and tell them about the ankles and the blood pressure, they said that they would fax over orders to Tbird Banner Obi-Triage Center, and that I should get someone to take me. UGH - you all know how much it bothers me to no do things myself sometimes, and they wouldn't even let me drive to the hospital even though I thought I felt fine.
I get there - they hook me up to all kinds of monitors. Gunnar was kicking away, which was funny to hear on the monitor. It was almost like he was saying - hey, I like all the attention....
They monitored my BP and yup - it was elevated. The Dr/Nurse said that according to my chart, I was elevated quite above my "norm". So I had to lay there while they did urine samples, and blood work. They were specifically looking for Preclampsia. Well, good thing - they didn't come across anything that was abnormal in that area. After consulting with my OBGyn, told me that I have a week of bedrest to see if it helps with the BP, and then I might be able to go back to work.. UGH. I sure hope it does, cuz I know I won't be able to sit around the house for 3 months until Gunnar makes his arrival. Anyway, that's the newest development. Feel free to email me, cuz I will be extra bored, and need something to do.
